William Antoniou
 

WILLIAM ANTONIOU is a distinguished composer of Film, TV and Theater music. He is known for his moving musical storytelling and lyrical yet pulsating melodies. He has received numerous awards for his film scoring including Best Original Music For A Short Film at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, (Discussing Space, 2008), and Best Original Score at the L.A. Shorts Awards, (Lucy, 2015). He also received critical acclaim for his score for Giles Foreman's Oleander (2015). He is currently attached to compose the score for Hannah Bales' "So Happy I Could Die" and "Dendrophilia," both set for release in 2026, as well as the TV adaptation of David P. Perlmutter's novel "Write To Kill."

In the world of music theater, Antoniou has worked with many notable directors including Lee Breuer (TRAFOI, 2008), Kay Walker Castaldo (La Sainte, 2004), and Ashley Tata, (Anathema: Alan Mathison Turing, 2017). He has written two musicals with librettist Eamonn Farrell, A Wonderland (2010) and The Return (2012). In 2014, Antoniou and Farrell were finalists for the prestigious Jonathan Larson Grant given for outstanding achievement in music theater for their opera Anathema: Alan Mathison Turing. Antoniou is currently writing his second opera, an adaptation of Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World," with librettist Sam Norman.

Antoniou's work has been performed by many formidable conductors and ensembles such as David Bloom, Saulius Sodeckis, L'Anima Quartet, and ALEA III. He has also been commissioned twice by the Greek National Opera. Antoniou is also the youngest composer ever accepted to New Dramatists' Composer/Librettist studio held annually in New York City.
